INXS Lead Singer Dies of Mysterious Causes - Hotels Where Bad S%$# Happens

Karen Walker | October 30th, 2006

INXS was Australia’s gift to the world of rock in the 80’s. Their lead singer, the post 60’s Jim Morrison-esc lead singer Michael Hutchence was a heart throb infamously linked to actress/ singer Kylie Minogue and supermodel Helena Christensen. It was on November 22, 1997 that he was found dead at age 37 in his hotel room at the Ritz Carlton in Double Bay, Sydney. Initially the press assumed that he suffered from an overdose but no drugs were found in the room, however the cause of death was in fact suicide by hanging himself. Since there was no suicide note, many speculate that the cause of death was from autoerotic asphyxiation.
