Tips for Copenhagen

  • Pack a picnic of delicious breads and Danish sweets from the Trianon Bakery (Frederiksberg Centeret), grab half a dozen Tuborgs and head down to the harbor to cool off.
  • I am told the water is “super clean” by my Scandinavian friends. Technically it’s illegal to swim anywhere other than the designated enclosed swimming area, but this doesn’t seem to stop the Danes. In the height of summer the waterfront is lined with beautiful people in the swimming gear - very good people watching material..
  • Some of the cooler people own Viking-like clinker built boats, in which they cruise up and down the waterway, beer in and beautiful partner in hand.
  • If the sun becomes too much, an upturned sailing ship’s hull mounted on posts provides great shade.
