Who needs roller coasters or cinemas or a Gameboy or a Furby when all the joy and entertainment the world has to offer can from a couple of logs sticking out of waste deep water? Call it a positive side effect of living in Barbados where the tropical climate, warm clear water and relaxed island way of living invite you to spend a damn sight more time outside than you would on your average winter’s day at home. While the tourism can be pretty wild in this area of the globe, the good news is there are 7000 islands reefs and cayes in the Caribbean so it’s a sure bet you can find a few sticks of your own to launch off. Can you imagine it: eight feet up in the air, arms flailing, dermas lacquered in that fine bronze that comes from the mating of body, sun and salt water, knowing you’re about to be swallowed by a giant turquoise sea with the giggles of local kids ringing in your ears and not a man made structure in sight? Sounds like Horsey heaven to us.
