Remember in the 80’s when we thought by the year 2001 we would be riding around in little Jetson flying cars, skating on hover boards and flying to the moon would be as easy as flying to Florida? Ok, so we haven’t quite lived up to all of those predictions but leave it up to Richard Branson of Virgin to make all of our childhood dreams of traveling to outer space come true.
In 2004, he announced that Virgin Galactic will be having commercial flights to space and you could be one of the lucky contenders for a mere $200,000 (a minimum refundable deposit of $20,000). Branson stated that, “Every passenger will have a spectacular view; they will have considerable windows and luxurious seats.�?
In September 2006, Branson revealed the mock up of the plane that will carry passengers into space. The flights will begin in 2009.
