Where to Eat if Someone Else is Paying - Eleven Madison Park
Deana Bianco | March 1st, 2007
For all you wine lovers and connoisseurs out there, Eleven Madison Park is a dream come true. They have a selection of over thirty-five wines by the glass and the wine selection is out of this world with some of the most impossible to find bottles on the menu (waiter, bring over the Araujo Eisele Cabernet for the table). The art deco building is enough to put anyone in awe although the thirty-six foot ceilings and marble floor and decoration made me feel cold and it took a couple glasses of wine to warm me up. The clientele was mostly stock broker/ Wall Street type and I felt like I was more in a scene from Bret Easton Ellis’ American Psycho but heck, I love that book. The food, however, is exceptional. It feels like you are constantly being bombarded with courses. My only regret is playing it safe with my main course- tuna although the frog legs and the foie gras did not sound appetizing.
