Across the road from The Book Kitchen sits The Bourke Street Bakery. Nestled in the ground floor of a corner site, the service area is only about 4sq metres, and glass cabinets bursting with freshly-baked treats seem to surround you.
Top picks are the strawberry & vanilla creme brulee tarts, the iced coffee, an array of quiche’s, organic sausage rolls and the best coffee in the area.
I was there twice a day for three days - it was an absolute triumph.
