There are places that we describe as being “paradise” and then there are places that are actually called Paradise. This Paradise is an hours drive out of Queenstown, New Zealand and certainly matches my definition of paradise.
Candle light, open fire cooking, mountains as neighbours, $30 a night.

The Queenstown lakes district is full of great hotels and homes to rent and of course, our favourite amongst them is Touch Of Spice for luxury holiday rentals throughout this region. A recent snow weekend saw us staying at one of their properties just at the foot of Coronet Peak ski field: [...]

My favourite winter escape in New Zealand has always been the Queenstown Lakes District. Nothing to do with the snow! My snowboard gathered dust in the closet for years before ultimately being sold. It’s more about those crisp days, roaring fires, lake side walks and some pretty good Pinot noir! Here are my ten [...]

New Zealand has a lot of luxury accommodation and I’m lucky enough to have stayed at many of them but there’s a new standard on the landscape with A Touch of Spice. For the rest of us who are keen to relax with the crisp mountain air, clear blue skies, wine and fresh food you can’t go past an hour or two at the Millbrook Resort Spa.

If there’s one place you have time to pop into to for dinner in Queenstown it should be The Bunker.
Situated in a discreet little lane off the beaten track, The Bunker offers a cosy and intimate room to dine in, plus a dedicated bar upstairs.
At the end of a day skiing (or trying to ski) [...]

It’s funny how every cloud has a silver lining. I suppose not all people would see an involuntary 3hr bus ride as a silver lining, but I guess it’s all how you look at it.
As Qantas are normally cheaper than Air NZ with domestic travel in New Zealand I booked ahead and expected to [...]

If ever there was a reason to start enjoying wine, it would have to be a trip to Peregrine Vineyards and Winery in Queenstown, New Zealand.
For someone who didn’t start to drink until 24, the experience of going from drinking nothing to drinking some of the best wine in the world is a heady one. [...]

You need to be seriously cashed up to stay at Eichardt’s Private Hotel in Queenstown, the snow capital of the South Island of New Zealand. Eichardt’s has reclaimed the elegance of its Gold Rush days, but with a modern, comfortable twist. Downstairs, the cheery bar is the kind you wish existed more often, (great for [...]
